Eco and Earth apparel
Eco and Earth offers a variety of stylish and comfortable apparel and accessories. All of our garments are made of 100% organic cotton or fabrics containing significant percentages of recycled material. We’ve partnered with suppliers who use RPET which, amazingly, is made from recycled plastic soda bottles and the like. By keeping these bottles out of landfills, we believe that we are doing our share to help keep the Earth greener.
Of course, all of our apparel products are made 100% in the USA.
Eco Triblend Apparel
Our RPET Apparel is an environmentally friendly fabric blend we love to use at Eco and Earth. RPET stands for Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate, or recycled PET. RPET is made from recycled polyesters, recycled plastics and pure, 100% organic cotton.
Light, strong, soft to the touch, bamboo apparel requires less dye than cotton. Bamboo fabric wicks moisture away from your skin, keeping you drier. Bamboo is one of the fastest renewable resources, growing incredibly quickly, up to two feet per day, and using about 1/3 less water than cotton to grow. Bamboo fabric also has amazing insulating properties and will keep you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Viscose Bamboo Apparel.
The strength and durability of viscose bamboo is amazing. Our shirts are some of the strongest in the industry. This fabric both wicks moisture keeping you dry and provides protection from UV rays.
Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic. The viscose bamboo plant grows faster than any other plant, making it one of the most renewable on Earth. Some species of viscose bamboo can grow up to two feet per day and some species grow even faster than that. The viscose bamboo fabric absorbs moisture extremely well and because of that, requires less dye than conventional cotton which uses more harmful chemicals that negatively affect our environment.
Organic Cotton Apparel
Traditional cotton farming accounts for over 10% of total pesticide use and nearly 25% of insecticide use worldwide. Though organic farming of natural cotton fiber is more expensive compared to traditional farming, it eliminates pesticide and herbicide use, reduces soil and water degradation, and is also safe for wildlife.
. Growing organic cotton takes longer, requires more skill and currently costs more, but we think it’s worth it.
Our Organic Cotton Apparel is certified by GOTS which stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. Please click here to see more information regarding GOTS.
